Makeout in the 3rd Person

This project is a light-hearted exploration of the connection between perception and reality. By altering our perceptions, in this case through technology, our “reality” must be reconstructed.

Participants are invited to kiss each other while wearing video goggles that are showing a wireless feed from an external camera. As the couples become intimate with each other, they see themselves from a unique and disorienting third-person perspective. This creates an out-of-body sensory experience not unlike being the star of one’s own video game.
